Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on the 20th of October, 1964. She is an American politician. She is the first female vice-president and the highest ranking female politician in U.S history. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served as the attorney general for California from 2011 to 2017 and also as an United States senator representing California from 2017 until 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Then she was recruited to join the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was elected the city's district attorney. Harris was elected Attorney General of California in the year 2010. In 2014, she won re-election. Harris was the junior United States senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez to become the 2nd African American woman senator and the first South Asian American ever to be elected to the United States Senate. She was a senator and advocated for healthcare reform as well as federal cannabis de-scheduling an opportunity to become a citizen for undocumented immigrant immigrants and the DREAM Act, a ban against assault weapons and progressive tax reform. The attention of the nation was drawn by her shrewd examination of Trump administration officials during Senate hearings. The most notable was Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual misconduct.
