Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. She is best known for her role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded two Emmy Awards in 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. After the seventh season, Sedgwick was awarded the Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended on August 13 on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick's performance as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick was nominated for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) as well as The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald and is an educator therapy for families, a venture capitalist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech Therapist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was Episcopalian. She was also of English descent. Sedgwick has declared that she is Jewish and participates in Passover meals.
