Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born March 10, 1949. She is an American investor as well as a speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group, an NY-based real estate broker was started by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then exited the business. Corcoran was among the original Shark Tank investors. She was a regular on every episode of ABC's Shark Tank. In February 2020, Corcoran had made 53 deals, the most significant being a $350,000 deal that covered 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of 10 children born to an Irish-Catholic couple working in the middle class living in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence was her mother, who was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's childhood. Sometimes, the family relied upon deliveries of food that was free from a local grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father, a man who sometimes drank too much and treated her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, particularly after he'd consumed several drinks. Corcoran struggled in school, and eventually discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after attending an Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in a variety of classes during her freshman year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
