Maria Elena Bello is an American actress. Her film credits include Permanent Midnight (1998), Payback (1999), Coyote Ugly (2000), The Cooler (2003), A History of Violence (2005), The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008), Grown Ups (2010), Prisoners (2013) and Lights Out (2016). In the television world, Bello appeared as Dr. Anna Del Amico on the medical drama ER (1997-1998), with other starring roles including as Lucy Robbins on the series Touch in 2013. She also starred as Michelle McBride on the first season of the TV series Goliath in 2016, and from 2017 to 2021 as Special Agent Jacqueline "Jack" Sloane in the NCIS series. NCIS. Bello was born on April 18, 1967 in Norristown, Pennsylvania,[2] to Kathy who was a school nurse and teacher and Joe Bello, a contractor.Her father is Italian American, with roots in Montella, Italy, and her mother is Polish American.She grew up in a working-class, Catholic family and graduated from Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor, Pennsylvania. Her field of study was political sciences at Villanova University. Bello continued her training in acting through participation in numerous New York theatre productions. Bello as well as Dan McDermott have a son, Jackson. Bello wrote in November 2013 about her similar-sex relationship with Clare Munn, and how it ended. She published a book, Whatever...Love Is Love: Questioning the Labels We Give Ourselves (Dey Street Books 28 April 2015)
